Jonah: Establishing an Obedient Heart
God is teaching me the same simple concepts he was teaching me when I first chose to follow him, but this is just a new season with different specific circumstances and people.
Lynnsie: Impact of Discipleship
I am praying that God would continue to break my heart for the lost people around me so that I would be steadfast in the faith he has called me to.
Giving Thanks in the Midst of Hardship
"There is not always something practical to be done when things aren’t going the way you want them to. Sometimes all you can do is just rest and know that the Lord is supplying all of your needs."
But Prayer: Applications from Acts
"…no matter the answer God gives us, his answer is always better than any solution we can come up with. We should not settle for our solutions; rather, we should be desperate for the Lord to give us the resolution he knows will be best."
The Sin of Witchcraft
In C&YA, through religious masks, cheap worship, and actions of disobedience we welcome the chastening of the Lord.
Isai: Impact of Discipleship
I wasn't truly hiding God’s word in my heart, and I had a major struggle with confessing my sins up until that point. I'd cover them up, sweep them under a rug, and act surprised when they would show up again.
Fall Retreat 2019 Testimonies
Every year at the beginning of fall, our College and Young Adult Ministry goes to Arkansas to get away together in God’s Word. We eat, hike, float down river, worship God and get envisioned to reach Kansas City for Christ. Here are just a few of the testimonies from this years retreat.
A Season of Suffering
We hope that this poem gives insight into this season and that wherever you are, you stand fast in what God has already promised all of us.
Finding the Secret Place: Lessons from the Emotions Study
Emotions are not evil or a nuisance, but they can be both of those things when they are outside of God’s will.
Congregational Worship
True, celebratory, and glorifying congregational worship will be at its greatest when it stems from worshippers who have a powerful personal worship relationship with the Lord.
The Ongoing, Everchanging Stewardship of Time
"After decades of ministry, I have come to realize that I have the most peace, joy, and satisfaction when I have taken my eyes off myself and my circumstances in the flesh and put them on the mission field, the souls of men."
How to Manage Your Finances Biblically
"If God is not supplying a need that you want, does that make the Bible wrong? Or is God just testing your faith before giving you the blessing? Or, does He have a better direction, that you can’t see yet?"
Spring Retreat Testimonies 2019
This year’s Spring Retreat focused on “Finding the Holy Place” and asked our college and young adults to consider what God has done in us by separating us from the world. How do we cultivate holiness? Do we truly hate sin? In what ways to we make room for sin in our life, impeding God’s blessing? These testimonies are the evidence of God’s work in our ministry.
Jaclyn: The Impact of Discipleship
Discipleship drew me closer to the Lord, led me to know the him through obedience to His word, taught me to walk in the Spirit, allowed me to see myself as a necessary member in the local church body, and held me accountable to surrender my life to live out God’s mission.
C&YA Fall Retreat 2018
This years retreat was incredibly refreshing yet challenging. We took some time to hear what God did in the lives of several of our C&YA members. Take some time to listen to the messages from Pastor Tony Godfrey & Pastor Brandon Briscoe.
